According to the application, this is what is planned:

*4 Residential Apartments for Permanent Occupation
* One Restaurant/Kiosk and Surf-Hire Building

It will certainly improve the eyesore that is there at the moment and the inclusion of a restaurant and cafe will be welcomed by the locals and visitors alike.
To view all the public documents including site plans, landscaping details etc concerning this, visit the council website - click on the DA Tracking link and either search for McIntosh Street, Shoalhaven Heads or enter the application number which is DA08/2782.
Now that it appears plans for the proposed marina development have been shelved, this will at least provide employment for the area and enhance the limited facilities we have at the beach.

As far as I know the marina project is dead in the water which according to many locals isn’t a bad thing!
I’ve had a look at the plans on the Council’s website and it looks like a well thought out development. The restaurant/kiosk will be a wlecome addition.
Whatever happened to the other much bigger development (Shoalhaven Harbour) proposed for the other end of town - has it been cancelled?
The car parking provisions worries me, McIntosh and Staples Sts are both hard to find a spot in over the busy holiday periods. The development sounds good but what effect will it have on the locals is what worries me most
Looks good to me a permanent cafe at the beach is a great idea too
