From Geneva, Switzerland.

SCIENTISTS claim the giant atom-smashing Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is being jinxed from the future to save the world.

In a bizarre sci-fi theory, Danish physicist Dr Holger Bech Nielsen and Dr Masao Ninomiya from Japan claim the LHC startup has been delayed due to nature trying to prevent it from finding the elusive Higgs boson, or “God particle”.

They say their maths proves that nature will “ripple backward through time” to stop the LHC before it can create the God particle, like a time traveller who goes back in time to kill his grandfather. read more…

Samuel asks: Can old coffee stains be removed from our carpet or is it too late?

Auntie Flo: No, it shouldn’t be too late Samuel. You will need to get some glycerine (try the supermarket or chemist) and white vinegar, bicarbonate of soda, cotton balls, a clean sponge and have the vacuum cleaner ready.

Apply the glycerine to the stain marks with a cotton ball, leave for five minutes and then sponge the stain with the sponge dampened in the vinegar. read more…

Live trials are nearly complete on the filter technology which will allow the government of the day to add any ‘unwanted’ site to a secret blacklist. This isn’t China, Saudi Arabia or Iran - we could see a mandatory filter of all internet traffic right here in Australia as early as this year.

The Government could yet put the internet filter where it belongs: in the bin. But that will only happen if politicians feel the heat in their home electorates. Why not add your support to the campaign and sign the petition (you can use the secure box below to do so) to get this draconian legislation stopped before it’s too late. It could really spell the end of the internet as we know it - it’s that serious. For more information, visit the GetUp! Campaign website.
