danyljohnsonTakes a bit to impress a ‘child of the sixties’ musically these days, but the first audition by Danyl Johnson on the X Factor sent a shiver down my spine - did you catch it on Seven this morning?

I remember going to the movies to see Joe Cocker in ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen’ when I was around 16 and never forgot the experience. Great R&B music is timeless and Danyl’s version of Cocker’s ‘I Get By With a Little Help From My Friends’ (yes, I know it’s a Beatles tune, but Cocker’s version is better by far) is up there with the best.

It’s certainly worth watching and I bet we hear more from this teacher from Reading in the UK.
