I had to chuckle because my wife and I went for a stroll the other day and we were musing on whether a scheme will ever be proposed to provide some work for the unemployed that meant visitors and locals (especially those in wheelchairs) would have better access to the beach. While scammers are using every available modern technology like email, the internet, text messaging etc, it seems that good old-fashioned door knocking scams are still alive and well.

The ABC reported last week that the Shoalhaven council says it is delighted to finalise an agreement to sell land for the development of a Buddhist temple and tourist complex. Plans were stalled in January when the council failed to receive an expected payment.
Council has approved the building of a mosque at Shoalhaven Heads. A spokesperson for the council said “this is a much-needed and welcome addition to the wider Shoalhaven as there are many Muslim people who have to travel many miles to attend services. The Christian community has been very supportive in the proposal and we thank them”
Decided to do a bit of tinkering this evening, as a few people had commented that the site was a little slow to load - especially on 256k ‘broadband’ connections (sorry, I don’t regard 256k as broadband regardless of what Telstra try and tell us!).
