Britain's present royal family was originally named Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. The name was changed in 1917, during WW1 because of German connotations. The name Windsor was suggested by one of the staff. At the same time the family name of the cousins to the Windsors, Battenberg, was changed to Mountbatten.

AUGUST 24 2003 - Severe wind storm with gusts up to 160km/hour buffeted the Shoalhaven causing millions of dollars in damage. In addition many trees came down across power lines causing blackouts lasting days in some instances. Emergency Services were stretched to the limit. Emergency power had to be supplied to hospitals and then to dairies so that the cows could be milked.
