Sally asks: Our wardrobe often smells musty, is there a cure for this that you recommend?Auntie Flo: Try this tip Sally. Find a suitable large sized container with a lid, such as an old coffee can, plastic container, or painter’s bucket and poke several holes in the lid.
Fill the container with a good handful of charcoal briquettes, they will absorb moisture buildup in your wardrobe that often causes the musty smell. The same trick can be used to prevent the ‘musty book smell’ in bookcases with glass doors too. Use a smaller container with just a couple of briquettes. Apparently many libraries use this trick!
Replace the charcoal briquettes every few months with new ones. The used briquettes are still perfectly fine to use in your outdoor barbeque too!

Hello Diane. I have heard that kitty litter could be used for this too. I haven’t tried it myself but certainly worth trying!
