Firstly, thanks for commenting on the article but a couple of points need to be made.
1. I love the 'we keep this site' line - it has never been a 'we' enterprise despite my best efforts to encourage community involvement. It certainly gets regular visitors - local and others - but seldom any comments and never any offers of penning articles (with one exception). So, my last resort was to write some more controversial items in the hope of getting some response - and you have, thank you.
2. The articles I write contain my own views on topics - it certainly isn't used for 'political purposes', in fact I try hard to keep my personal views to myself - but sometimes idiots and their idiot remarks (whatever the origin) need to be pointed out. Climate change is one area that should be bi-partisan, but the Liberals have discarded that option in favour of the same old, tired rhetoric. Labour hasn't done a great deal to help matters and the Greens, are well not really on the planet most of the time are they?
3. I was talking about the politicians and lobbyists not knowing how much they pay for electricity not the rest of us, sorry if i didn't make that clear.
4. Finally, no I won't be keeping my views to myself but you are most welcome to contact me to write some articles yourself for publication here!
All the best, Andy.

How disappointing to find this site is now being used for political purposes. The absolute gaul to say that people are not even aware of how much they pay for electricity indicates this writer is so left-wing he is happy to send the country into bankruptcy. Already we are paying huge increases in electricity which will have flow on effects to everything we buy.
I suggest we keep this site as it was originally and that the editor keeps his views to himself.
