FromTokyo, Japan.

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan’s next prime minister might be nicknamed “the alien,” but it’s his wife who claims to have had a close encounter with another world.

“While my body was asleep, I think my soul rode on a triangular-shaped UFO and went to Venus,” Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of premier-in-waiting Yukio Hatoyama, wrote in a book published last year. read more…

Phil asks: Is there an easy way to remove sticky tape from wallpaper Auntie Flo?

Auntie Flo: I’ve tried this method and it’s worked for me Phil - put a drop or two of washing up liquid into really hot water (from a recently boiled kettle) and using gloves, wet some clean fabric in it and carefully wring it out.

Place the fabric over the sticky tape and then put gladwrap over the top. read more…

Live trials are nearly complete on the filter technology which will allow the government of the day to add any ‘unwanted’ site to a secret blacklist. This isn’t China, Saudi Arabia or Iran - we could see a mandatory filter of all internet traffic right here in Australia as early as this year.

The Government could yet put the internet filter where it belongs: in the bin. But that will only happen if politicians feel the heat in their home electorates. Why not add your support to the campaign and sign the petition (you can use the secure box below to do so) to get this draconian legislation stopped before it’s too late. It could really spell the end of the internet as we know it - it’s that serious. For more information, visit the GetUp! Campaign website.

postcardJust a small addition, but one designed to generate a bit more traffic (visitors!).

On any of the photo galleries you will now see a link that says ‘Send as e-card’.

You can use this to easily send a copy of a photo to a friend or relative.

I encourage you to use this as a quick and easy way to refer this website to others - it will be very much appreciated (and may mean the site will be here after the end of this year..)

danyljohnsonTakes a bit to impress a ‘child of the sixties’ musically these days, but the first audition by Danyl Johnson on the X Factor sent a shiver down my spine - did you catch it on Seven this morning?

If you missed it - click the image to the left to watch it on YouTube. I can’t find one that has ‘embedding’ allowed unfortunately, but the image links to the video.

I remember going to the movies to see Joe Cocker in ‘Mad Dogs & Englishmen’ when I was around 16 and never forgot the experience. read more…

Sally asks: School mornings are a real pain with fights and arguments over where stuff is. Any ideas Auntie Flo?

Auntie Flo: School mornings can be hectic and stressful mornings. I used to do this (too many years ago now to count!).

Keep a laundry basket by the front door and have your children fill it the night before with everything they will need for school the next day, backpack, keys, gym clothes, money, hats, homework etc. read more…
